The weather was beautiful. The kids were good and the company was refreshing. That makes for a successful getaway.

My sweet girl is 4 and that wraps up the kids birthday's until next September. Aliyah loves her brothers and keeps trying to give all her babies to the Goodwill! She'd prefer to build a fort with Ollie and Eli or zoom around the house on her tricycle chasing Sammy than snuggling her dolls but she does love a good tea party and she is the DARLING of my heart. Thank you Jesus for Aliyah.

My dear oldest son is 9! He's half way to grown but not too old to LOVE Veggie Tales! I'm very pleased that given the choice of Star Wars: The Clone Wars or Veggie Tales: Little Drummer Boy Junior wins out (almost) every time.

I can't believe my youngest is 2! It's bittersweet. I love having a 2 year old. Sammy is beyond sweet and brings such joy to our home. His favorite activities are keeping up with his older siblings, zooming around the house on his firetruck and emptying out the fridge. God has blessed me and I AM THANKFUL.

It's unbelievable that my sweet second born son is SIX years old. He's 1/3 of the way to grown and it's speeding by faster than I can describe.
You are loved.

I knew she would get a haircut (probably by one of her brothers) sooner or later. I was just hoping it would be later.
Her hair got tangled in the milk frother when it was placed to her head - imagine that! So, the obvious solution was to get Mom's very sharp sewing scissors and cut it all off to hide the crime?
Oh well, she's still cute - even with a mullet.

The boys really wanted to watch Survivor. Ollie lasted until 9:05.
Eli only made it until 8:45.

Isn't it grand? Just $10 at a lot down the street. Just one of the many benefits of being an Oregonian.

I've been trying so hard to NOT feed the kids food coloring but I just couldn't resist making a checkerboard rainbow cake for Aliyah. It looked even better in person!
Happy Birthday sweet girl. I praise God for you and the joy of raising a daughter. You delight me everyday with your sweet giggles, quick smile and mischievous ways. You are beautiful inside and out. Love, Mom

Happy Birthday Ollie! The past 8 years have been a whirlwind of happiness. You are thoughtful, kind, imaginative and very responsible. Thanks for helping me take care of Eli, Aliyah and Sammy. You are a wonderful big brother. I love you son and I'm so thankful that God gave us you! Love, Mom

I was trying to be one of "those people" this month but I failed and I can accept that. My purpose for this blog is to write down some memories for my kids because the years are passing all too quickly. So here's my memory for the week: Ollie and Eli both received good report cards a few days ago. As a reward I told them we could stop for a treat on the way home from school. Ollie wanted to stop at Starbucks for a vanilla steamer and Eli wanted to stop at Burger King for a hamburger. Interesting choices aren't they? I love you boys and I am one PROUD
Mom. Thanks for being my kids!

Happy birthday dear boy. You have been such a blessing in our lives this year. I can't believe how quickly the year has passed and everyday I thank God for you, my sweet boy. You are full of life, joy, laughter and fun. You are so easy going and such a good little brother. Ollie, Eli and Aliyah love you so much and we praise God you are in our family. P.S. Dad might try to give you a haircut soon. Love, Mom
Aliyah enjoyed Sammy's birthday cake just as much (and maybe more) than he did!

One thing I love about our new house is the fire pit. So, after living here for 8 days Ollie finally convinced John to build a fire on this wet and cold November afternoon.

But I am so thankful that we are here and that God has blessed us with this great BIG house! There are 3 "kid" bedrooms and right now I have Ollie and Sam sharing the big room and Eli and Aliyah each in their own rooms and it has been great. The first night Sammy had a hard time falling asleep but I think it was more because of the excitement of the day and his late bedtime than his new room. Eli didn't want to sleep alone so he went to Aliyah's room and shared her toddler size bed! The second night Sam slept great and Aliyah and Eli realized they needed more room so they slept in Eli's full size bed. The third night everyone slept in their own room and bed. It's starting to feel like home and I'm so thankful for everyone's prayers and help! Especially my small group at church. We were blessed by The O'Neills
on Monday night with 2 delicious pizzas and then blessed again on Tuesday night by The Curtis Family
with some yummy stew and other goodies! We love you guys! Thank you so much for making our first week in this house a little bit smoother.

In August John took Ollie, Eli and Koji camping and crabbing at the Oregon coast. They caught some crab and then got to eat them right there on the dock freshly steamed! This is my favorite picture from the trip. Can you tell that Ollie likes his marshmallows a bit charred?

I'm tired and it's 10:18 and I've been trying to be in bed my 9:30 so I can read. And I'm a bit overwhelmed with trying to pack up the house and all that so today I'm resorting to the writing prompt which is:Would you rather be wealthy and ugly, wise and sickly, or beautiful and stupid?
I'm going to have to turn to the living word of God for this one and my answer is... none of the above. I'm thankful for who I am at this moment in time. I Timothy 6:6 But godliness with contentment is great gain.
All I can do right now is praise the Lord that I don't even want to think about the question but instead fall into bed with joy in my heart and thanksgiving on my tongue. His grace is sufficient for me.

If I have to go to this website
to get ideas for my blog do you think it means I shouldn't be trying to write one?
We are moving in 3 days to Steven Court. Should I change the name of my blog to Life on Steven Court? Sounds lame to me but we won't be living life on Ollie Lane anymore :( I'm only sad because not many folks get to live on a street named for their firstborn son. I guess if I birth another boy I'll have to name him Steven and then people will be right when they ask, "Did you name your kid after the street you live on?"
I need a few votes of confidence. Can I keep my blog from dying?

Celebrating his 5th birthday!
Saturday, July 24, 2010
but I think I've forgotten how. So, I'll just start with a picture. Eli went fishing to Silverton Reservoir with John and Aliyah and Ollie picked strawberries with me. I can't remember what Samuel was doing. But I'm sure someone was watching him!

Life is busy with 4 kids and I've become a facebook
junkie. Those are my excuses for neglecting the blog. I still seem to have time to be on the computer and here is my most recent find
. These are cute enough to make me want to learn to crochet! Maybe I'll write more next time. Sammy is screaming... must go pick up the baby.
